Stop Asking Everyone Else Who You Should Be
Your friend says you should start dating.

Your brother says you should stay single.

Someone online says you need a new body, a new car, and a whole new life.

But what do you think?

After divorce, even small choices can feel strange. For years, you may have planned your life around someone else. Now you have more room to choose—and less trust in your choices.

So you ask everyone.
Advice can help. But when every choice needs a vote, your own voice gets hard to hear.
Start with something small.
Before asking someone what to do this weekend, write down what you want. A quiet morning? Time with a friend? A chance to try something new?
Then ask: “Does this fit the man I want to be?”
You can hear other views and still make your own choice. You can also change your mind when you learn something new.
Self-trust grows when you make a choice, see what happens, and learn from it.
You do not need to have every answer to begin.
Think about this: Whose approval are you waiting for before you let yourself move forward?
Try this today: Make one small choice without polling anyone. Write down why it matters to you. Follow through.
