You have started taking care of yourself.
You handle some things better. You keep more promises. You think before you speak.
Part of you hopes she will notice.
Perhaps you imagine her saying, “You seem different.”
That wish is understandable. Someone who knew you for years may still carry a version of you that feels painful or incomplete.
You may want a fairer view.
But what happens if she never offers it?
Does the walk you took still count?
Does the patient talk with your son still matter?
Does keeping your word lose its value because she did not see it?
Your progress has a place in your life even when she does not respond.
Look closely at where your attention goes.
Are you choosing an activity because you enjoy it? Or because it might look impressive online?
Are you making a change because it matches your values? Or because you hope it will create regret?
You do not need to attack yourself for wanting to be seen. Simply notice when that wish starts making your choices.
Then ask what you would choose if there were no audience.
Perhaps you would spend less. Call your brother. Learn to cook. Leave your phone alone for an evening. Speak with more care.
Those choices may seem quiet. They still shape the life you wake up in each day.
Give yourself a way to record that progress.
At the end of the week, write down one choice you respect and why it mattered.
You are allowed to value evidence that no one applauds.
A question to sit with: What change would you keep making even if your ex never knew?
Your next step: Choose one action that matters to you. Do it without posting it or seeking a reaction.
